Spotlight on U (Students)
What is your favorite subject in school and why?
My favorite subject is science because it comes naturally to me and I enjoy memorizing information. I like math, too. We’re learning new topics, and I really like algebra because I enjoy solving variables and working through equations.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done in a school project or lesson?
This year, I participated in a Leader in Me project where we went into sixth-grade classrooms and taught students by taking on the teacher role. I was nervous at first but also excited. It felt good to teach others about leadership and the eight habits and to see that I was able to do it successfully. They gave positive feedback and said they liked it.
If you could learn any skill instantly, what would it be?
Knowing everything, because it would make learning and problem-solving easier.

Would you rather be able to talk to animals or speak and understand any language in the world?
I would rather talk to animals, because learning languages is possible for people, but talking to animals is unique and would let me understand what pets think. I also already speak Spanish.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like listening to music, playing instruments, helping at church and doing crafts. I play the piano and guitar. I’ve played piano since 2023 and learned guitar last year. I like guitar more because it has more rhythm and emotion, especially for slower songs.
What career would you like to go into?
I’m interested in medicine because my family has experienced health issues, and I want to be able to help people and possibly save lives. I’d like to be a registered nurse. I took a medical class in sixth grade and plan to follow the health sciences pathway in high school.
What’s your favorite genre of music, favorite artist and current favorite song?
I like Christian music. My favorite artist is Hillsong, and my current favorite song is “Who You Say I Am.”
What celebrity would you want to be your best friend, and why?
Kylie Jenner, because she has overcome a lot of hate and stays strong and confident, which I find inspiring.
