Spotlight on U (Staff)
What is your current role and why did you choose it?
I am a behavior modification technician and I chose this role because it gives me the opportunity to share and guide struggling students to become their best self.
What’s your favorite thing about your current job?
My favorite thing about my job is the relationships I get to build with the students and the adults that I come in contact with. These relationships tend to last beyond high school.
What is your favorite memory at UCPS?
One in particular is interacting with a student that was struggling with behaviors and grades. I would talk to him every day he came and told him how much he was missed and how much I believed in him. He promised he would graduate and he did! I saw him months later and he told my husband had it not been for me, he would have quit school. He told me how much he loved me and thanked me for believing in him.

What's your "superpower" at work (the thing you’re known for)?
I guess it would be my ability to connect with the students. The adults recognize me for being the kid whisperer!
Outside of your job, what are your hobbies or interests?
Outside of UCPS, I am self-employed. I also love working out at the gym.
If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be and why?
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be my mom, who passed away in 2019. In the present day, it would always be with my family and closest friends.
What’s the coolest place you’ve ever visited? What did you like about it?
Miami, Florida. It’s beautiful and it’s the place I go for great food and relaxation. I enjoy hanging out on the yacht and vibing to music with my family and friends.
What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
My favorite books to this day are from my elementary days: “Amelia Bedelia.”
