Summer meals available at UCPS sites beginning June 15

Union County Public Schools will once again provide free summer meals for children across the district, helping ensure students continue to have access to nutritious food while school is out.

The UCPS Summer Meals Program begins June 15 and is open to all children 18 years old and younger, regardless of school enrollment.

Free lunches will be served Monday through Thursday through Aug. 6 at three UCPS sites.

• Walter Bickett Elementary School will offer dine-in service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Marshville Elementary School and Rocky River Elementary School will provide curbside pickup from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

All sites will be closed on Fridays.

To further support families, Marshville and Rocky River elementary schools will also provide breakfast bags for the following day, along with Friday breakfast and lunch meals included with Thursday’s pickup.

Atrium Health Summer Meals Program

In addition to UCPS offerings, families may also access free summer meals through Atrium Health and Morrison Healthcare as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program.

Atrium Health Union Women’s & Children’s Center in Monroe will serve free lunches for children 18 and younger from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 29-July 3 and Aug. 10-21 at 600 Hospital Drive.

Meals will be served rain or shine and must be consumed in the cafeteria.

Together, these programs help ensure children across Union County have consistent access to healthy meals throughout the summer months.
