Kindergarten enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year is open now. 

Please use the Edulog School Assignment Finder to identify which school your child will attend. If you encounter any problems while using Edulog, or are unable to find the school to which your student is assigned, please email edulog@ucps.k12.nc.us.

Children who will be five years old on or before Aug. 31, 2026, are eligible to be enrolled in kindergarten.

Kindergarten enrollment is processed through Infinite Campus, the UCPS online enrollment system. 

UCPS elementary schools have many competitive academic offerings that provide a unique and well-rounded educational experience for students, ranging from language immersion programs to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) initiatives. Browse the full list of academic programs offered. 

The kindergarten application period for the UCPS Dual Language Immersion Program is March 9 - April 2. Families of rising kindergarten students are encouraged to visit school websites for information about open houses and immersion parent meetings. Students must register for kindergarten in Infinite Campus for their assigned school before submitting an application for the Dual Language Immersion Program.

Applications for the Dual Language Immersion lottery will be available on Scribbles. 

Schools will hold open houses/tours for families. Visit your school’s website and follow their social media pages for weekly updates.

Yes, transportation is available for all UCPS students and specific information will be provided to families closer to the beginning of the school year. For additional information about transportation, please contact the school your student will attend.

Yes, parents have the option of enrolling their students in an After School Program that is conveniently located at elementary schools. 

The UCPS Goals and Objectives handbook for students in kindergarten through second grade outlines the goals and objectives for students. You can also view the UCPS Kindergarten Registration booklet for more information about how to prepare your child for reading, writing and math.

Our Exceptional Children’s Program provides special education and related services for eligible children with disabilities and is designed to meet their unique needs and prepare them for further education, employment and independent living.

Once determined eligible by the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team, the students’ needs are addressed through the development of an individualized education program which may address cognitive, educational, physical, behavioral, communication, motor and adaptive needs of the student.
