Exceptional Children (EC)
The mission of the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Exceptional Children's Division (NC DPI EC Division) is to ensure that students with disabilities develop intellectually, physically, emotionally, and vocationally through the provision of an appropriate individualized education program in the least restrictive environment.
Union County Public Schools Exceptional Children's Program provides specially designed instruction and programming designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities according to federal and state mandates of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. We are dedicated to providing quality specially-designed instruction to all students with disabilities through special education and related services.
2025-2026 Parent Survey: Special Education
This is the annual survey of parents of children receiving special education. It is an opportunity to report how well your school system includes you in the IEP process and the education of your child.
Your response lets the State and your district know how well they are doing or how they can improve parent involvement.
This short, 2-minute survey is open between January 1st and June 30th.
